How to get to Mallorca

There are many ways to get to the island of Mallorca, the easiest by far is to fly. The airport in Mallorca is served by all the major European airlines as well as the majority of the "budget" airlines. Flight times vary but on the whole you can expect a journey time of approximately 2 hours 15 minutes.

As the island is such a short journey time from the UK using the budget airlines is usually the best route to getting here. The reduced service in terms of complimentary bar etc. is an acceptable compromise on such a short trip when viewed against the costs savings. But be aware, the "budget" airlines can be as expensive as the major airlines depending on at what time of year and on what day of the week you fly. Shopping around is a must to get the best possible deal.

There are numerous services which automate the job of shopping around for flights. Websites such us Expedia and Opodo trawl a number of airlines to offer you various flight options, many have there on special deals available. However it is always possible to find good deals from the major airlines. British Midland from time to time offer special deals on tickets, this has the added benefit of a departure from London Heathrow, a bonus as the majority of "budget" airlines  fly from Luton, Gatwick or Standstead.

Flights to Mallorca are not limited to the London airports. Flights from other major UK airports are available as well as from the smaller regional airports. For example Bath Travel offer regular flights to the Balearics from Bournemouth airport via their airline Palm Air.

On the whole and by far the easiest way to fly to the island is to use Easyjet. Easyjet (and now GO) fly from numerous locations in the UK and in the summer often have 2 or more flights a day from some airports. Be aware that when booking with Easyjet that the price they advertise is not the price you pay. As with most budget airlines they pass on every cost that they do not control themselves such as departure taxes etc. That being said they are still one of the cheapest ways of getting to the island.
